ScholarAdvisor.com launched its writing service agency in 2011. It states that it ws begun by college students and exists specifically to serve the needs of college students. High school students who use our site, however, state that they have used this agency and were among several who asked us to review the company. In our Scholar Advisor review we have looked at all of the content on the company website, ScholarAdvisor testimonials on that site, samples of writing if available, information on writers, contact with customer support, pricing, and our assessment of a piece of writing we ordered ourselves.

Factor 1: Types of Writing Services Offered

ScholarAdvisor offers all types of academic writing to students at the college and graduate school levels. However, high school students are certainly not turned down.

In addition, there are a number of resources on the site that could be valuable for students – free sample essays to read and download, guides for several types of academic writing, tips for creating resumes, writing and editing tools, and more.

Overall, the site is well-organized and students will find many valuable resources.

Factor 2: Trust and Reliability

We have no reasons to doubt the reliability of this company. In fact customer reviews all point to receiving what was ordered on time. We received our paper on time as well. And so we can say that this company is not a fraud or scam.

We cannot find any information about the writers this company uses, and we would like to know a bit about their hiring practices.

Factor 3: Quality

To assess quality, we reviewed what other customers had to say to us and elsewhere on the web. We also assessed the samples and blog posts. Finally, we evaluated the paper we received. Here are our findings:

1. The ScholarAdvisor.com website content is very well-written

2. Blog posts and samples also reflect good grammar and composition

3. Customer reviews, however, are not positive. They speak to poor writing quality and to old and outdated resources

4. The short research paper we ordered was on a simple topic. And yet, it lacked a solid thesis statement. Further, poor sentence structure and incorrect word usage were common for an ESL writer. While Scholar Advisor states that it reviews all writing before delivery, we wonder who reviewed this piece.

5. We contacted customer support about dissertations and were told that we could have a complete original piece in seven days – not possible.

Factor 4: Pricing and Payment

Scholar Advisor prices fall within the normal range. They begin at $16.99/page for a basic essay and move up to $24.99/page for the highest quality level of writing for that same essay. Obviously, other types and higher levels cost more. While there is no discount program, there is a promo code for a 20% discount for new customers.

Factor 5: Additional Important Considerations

There are few benefits that come without a fee. While we were not charged for our title or bibliography pages, but the benefits stop there. Customers must pay for proofreading, for higher level writers, for VIP service, and a plagiarism report.

Another concern we have is the lack of ScholarAdvisor Privacy or Money-Back policies.

Concluding Comments

Looking at pros & cons, we can say that this company has a well-organized and well-written website. And it does offer some good resources for students. Anyone who wants original writing products, though, will be disappointed in what is delivered, better look at other essay writer websites. The company clearly exaggerates its writers’ expertise. Overall, our rating of product quality is “poor.”
